Major Accomplishments for the Year:
- In 2011 SLC put on the first fundraiser many years. As you can see by the charts it raised close to $7,000.
- We increased our membership over the previous year.
- We received our 501 c 3 status in December, now allowing members to deduct their donations and the $40.00 membership dues from their income tax.
- Our total philanthropic and scholarship donations increased significantly from the previous year.
Things to note when reviewing the Income and Expense Charts:
Income Chart:
- Our total income of $23,531 included $7,221 that was held over from the previous year.
Expense Chart:
- Administration costs include such things as: post office box, Directors & Officers Liability insurance to cover board members; supplies of SLC letterhead and envelopes. This year we had a one-time expense of $840 for our 501 c 3 application fee. Fees of $100 covered filing with the state as a corporation and charitable entity. In coming years the annual fee for these will total $50.
- The philanthropic donation of $5,229 included purchasing hanging baskets for Stafholt Good Samaritan Center and a $100 donation to the Blaine HS Chamber Choir. For the additional recipients of philanthropic donations, check the website.
