I was born in Argentina, moved to Vancouver, Canada in '68 and had two children, a boy and a girl. Both now adults with families.
I married my husband Jim Fullerton in '99 and moved to Seattle. Lived there till 2005 when we came to Semiahmoo to play golf on a most beautiful day and had lunch at Packers. We were hooked. Immediately started to look for a house in Semiahmoo, but there was nothing available to suit us. But we found this beautiful house at The Greens at Loomis Trail, bought it a moved in October 05.
My hobbies are, in no particular order: golf, stained glass, knitting, sewing, reading, movies, etc. etc. anything is good!!
I must tell you that I talk too much and I speak "Spanglish" a lot.

I moved here two months ago (September) from the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle with my husband John and dog Harry. It feels like I have come full-circle being here because as a child our family would spend the last two weeks of every summer renting the same cabin in Birch Bay.

I am retired now, but spent my working life in retail and wholesale clothing between Seattle, San Diego and Los Angeles. My plans for Semiahmoo include playing tennis, volunteering for seniors in the area and eventually becoming more involved with the Semiahmoo Ladies Club. I joined the book club last month and really enjoyed meeting the ladies there!

I am looking forward to making new friends and being part of this special community.

I am delighted to be a member of the Semiahmoo Ladies Club. I am Canadian and studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I received my medical degree in 1975 and completed a residency in Anaesthesia in 1979. Somewhere in all of these studies, I managed to give birth to four boys who are now living in Vancouver or Whistler.

After working in London, Ontario and Vancouver for sometime my husband David and I went to Los Angeles to work in 1991. David is a Pediatric Anaesthesiologist. We retired in 2001 and started on our retirement adventure. We had purchased a sailboat with a charter company and it was waiting for us in Turkey. We wanted to eventually settle into the Pacific North West as close to Vancouver as possible to be near to my sons and step-daughter. Also we wanted to as close to Whistler as possible as we have a ski cabin there. Semiahmoo was the perfect location. Thus we spent 6 years sailing in the eastern Mediterranean for 6 months i n the summer and living in Whistler in the winter months. Last summer, when our house here was completed, we sold our boat and moved in here.

My interests are: sailing and skiing of course, plus all sorts of crafts-from knitting and needlepoint to making Turkish knot carpets- something I gained a little knowledge of in Turkey. I would also like to start playing golf again-a sport I played as a child with my parents.
David and I have enjoyed our new home here in Drayton Hillside, but we have been overwhelmed by the friendliness and hospitality of all our neighbours.

My husband Alec and I purchased our home in Semiahmoo in January of 2004.  We also have a home in Claremont, California and split our time between the two.   We have 2 sons – One resides with his wife and children in Claremont, CA and the other lives in Seattle……..So we definitely share the best of both places!

We started visiting this area in the mid 70’s when my younger sister came to Bellingham to attend WWU and after graduating refused to leave.  As other family members flocked to the NW we did too and we love it here! My husband still has a business based in California and is not yet retired so we spend a lot of time traveling back and forth.

The most difficult part in being a ‘part-timer’ is getting to know people and establish friendships. The reason I joined the Ladies Club is to hopefully meet other Ladies in Semiahmoo. I enjoy being around people and I love spending time outdoors, walking my dog, gardening, hiking, riding my bike and playing golf.  I also enjoy cooking, reading, quilting, traveling and the Arts.

I’m always looking for exercise buddies to keep me motivated….. So, if anyone else out there feels the same give me a call!

We moved to Semiahmoo in December, 2006 from Woodinville WA, via Vancouver Canada, Atlanta GA, Minneapolis, MN and Mission Viejo, CA. My husband, Ken, first discovered Semiahmoo in the 1980's when the company he worked for had a golf tournament here. At the time we were living in Tswassen British Columbia with our two small children. He announced on his arrival home that when we retired we were going to live in Semiahmoo on the golf course. Well, where did all those years go? Much sooner than expected his dream came true. Here we are retired in Semiahmoo overlooking the golf course. We have three adult children, a daughter-in-law, son -in-law and we have also been blessed with three wonderful grandsons! Life is Good!

I was born in Bombay, India and grew up in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. My family and I immigrated to Canada in 1995. I met my husband in 1998 and we married in August 2004 . I immigrated to the United States in June 2005 and live with my husband,Chris. We have established our home base, in the south part of Blaine. We have a fun loving energetic black lab, Hunter who is about 7 months old and 2 cats.

For hobbies, I enjoy reading and am presently really enjoying the SLC Book Club, I also love running, and am currently training for the Inaugural Bellingham Bay Marathon. Yes, I will attempt to run 26.2 miles! My other love, is my desire to help people maintain and enhance their financial success, through investment and retirement analysis and planning. I have been in my business for the past 9 years. My ideal clients are presently retired or 5- 10 years to retirement. I especially enjoy working with women who are retired and have a desire to be educated and have continued success with their finances. My husband Chris is an engineer with Ocean Kayak in Ferndale and was born and raised in Whatcom County.

My goal for next year is to have my lab trained to visit people in retirement homes and perhaps even hospitals. I think that animals are comforting creatures and bring joy and happiness to those who welcome them into their space.

I have met many wonderful ladies at the SLC and hope to continue to meet more of you.

My husband Jeff and I recently relocated from London, England. We were there for 5 years. Prior to that we were in Bellingham for two years and Southern California for 7. Jeff's carreer began in Bellingham at the Arco refinery 26 years ago, so we consider Whatcom County our home. We have three children, Jacob, 24, recently graduated from Western. Matt, 21 who is in pre-med at The University of Oregon, and Callie, 19 who is majoring in Bio-chem at University of Puget Sound.

I love spending time with the kids, walking, playing golf, reading, needlepoint and gardening. We love informal gatherings with family and friends.

My husband, Alan, and I moved from St. Louis to Blaine in October 2004. We have two daughters who live in Seattle and a son who lives in San Francisco. My primary interest in joining the Ladies Club is to become a member of the Book Group. I thoroughly enjoy gardening in this wonderful, fertile place and love to cook. A reflection of that interest is my job running cooking classes for Whatcom Community College. Since moving here, I have started a business, Northwest Concierge which performs homechecks and errand services for the Blaine-Birch Bay area. My favorite time of the day is when I walk the spit with my dog.

My husband Ed and I moved to Semiahmoo about 1 1/2 years ago. Since Ed is originally from Everett, we had been coming to Washington every year since we were married, and we knew we wanted to live up here eventually. We "found" Semiahmoo when Ed ran a 10K race here in 1997 and even though we checked out other places to live, we kept coming back to Semiahmoo as the best place of all. We moved here from San Antonio, Texas, after many years there and while it has been hard to leave my family and our
friends, we have made new friends here in the community and we have had lots of our Texas family and friends visit us here. Ed and I love to travel, especially to our nation's many park sites, and we also enjoy taking cruises to various places. We both enjoy reading and spending time working in our yard. I also enjoy arts and crafts projects and doing volunteer work, including as an usher at the Mount Baker Theatre and as a member of the Friends of the Blaine Library. Our new home in Semiahmoo is definitely my dream home, and the one thing I have not missed from Texas is the summer heat and humidity - not even all of the snow and rain this winter has changed that!

I grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, but after college and marriage, lived in San Diego, Bellevue, and Port Townsend, before moving to Sunriver,Oregon, in 1999. I have missed my family in Washington and the beauty of the Northwest so my husband and I decided to return. We moved here in October, and despite the winter of extremes, we have both enjoyed both the area and the people we have met.

I am a retired school psychologist from Highline School District in Seattle, where I worked in the same office as Judy Hansen's husband, Bruce. In retirement I have enjoyed persuing many hobbies including drawing, painting, pottery, reading, golf, hiking, and flying. I have also become very interested in digital photography and photo editing. My husband and I also like to travel and visit family. Now that we are settled in our home on Bald Eagle, I hope to have more time to spend on my hobbies and travel.
