Brian Burton is Dean of the College of Business and Economics and a professor of management at Western Washington University. He has been at Western since 1995, after a one-year visiting professor appointment at Indiana University, and served as MBA program director and associate dean prior to his appointment as dean. Burton earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism (1981), MBA in management (1985), and PhD in strategic management and philosophy (1994), all from Indiana University. . Burton has published papers in major philosophical and empirical journals in the social issues in management field, including Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society, and Teaching Business Ethics, and has presented papers at the Academy of Management, International Association for Business and Society, International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management, Society for Business Ethics
